A special moment took place at the Long Island Ducks game on August 1 when Paws of War surprised U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Christopher Perez with a Passing of the Leash ceremony for Dale, a puppy rescued from the Middle East by a deployed U.S. soldier.
After being brought to the United States by Paws of War, Dale completed extensive training and evaluations. During what Christopher thought was simply an opportunity to throw out the first pitch, he learned that Dale had passed his assessments and was officially being placed with him.
Dale will continue his training through the Paws of War program, generously sponsored by PSEG Long Island. Congratulations to Christopher and Dale, and thank you to PSEG Long Island and the Long Island Ducks for helping create this unforgettable moment. 🐾
